Inkjet Or Laserjet printer.. What do i choose ?

Im in sixth form and find myself having to print out a lot of things for school.
I’ve got a small laser jet made by Lexmark, but i hate the way it runs out all the time, it doesnt seem cost effective. And also the way its very slow.
The laserjets at school print 10 pages in about 30 seconds, and do black ink writing in booklets with a glossier, more professional look.
What are the pros and cons of each and what should i go for?

1. Quality
Laserjets have a higher quality print than inkjets

2. Speed
Laserjets are much faster than inkjets

3. Price
Laserjets are more expensive than inkjets
(”you get what you pay for”)

4. Pages per ink/toner cartridge
Laserjets avg several thousand pages per toner cartridge, inkjets avg only a few hundred (can be less depending on how you print) per ink cartridge

The bottom line is that laserjets are much better in the long run IF you print in high volume. Obviously if you only print a few pages a month then a laserjet may not be for you. You gain speed, better quality, and you aren’t running to the store constantly because ink (toner in their case) has run out by having a laserjet. If you’re on a tight budget then laserjet can cramp a person’s wallet, is the downside.

Also, I’d try the “help me choose a printer” wizard as it will ask you questions pertaining to your needs, and then provide you with a list of printers that meets these needs.

Printing Photographs
